I hate those early morning calls. It is never good news; I think I am still in shock. I did not believe my sister when she said, “Cookie is dead.” My heart felt like it broke into a million pieces. No, it cannot be, not my Cookie, I just talked to her Saturday. I have so much to say about my first cousin Cookie, but it hurts too much.
Her last words to me was Saturday, June 20, “Hey Deb, I love you” my last words to her was “I love my Cookie.” Those words are what is giving me some strength this moment. We do not have a guarantee that we will here or see a love one again. Therefore, end your conversations with “I LOVE YOU”.. Cookie died from a massive heart attack June 21.

Oh Deb, I am so sorry for your loss.
But you do have some comfort in your last words with her - the fact that you even had them in the first place, much less that they were pleasant.
So many friends/family pass on and sometimes we all don't have a pleasant memory to hold on to - to help us through the grief.
I am glad that you do. Much Love sent your way, Anne

Life is so fragile, I am amazed we last as long as we do. Each day is a gift. I love you, my friend.
Hi there!
I am sooo sad to hear of your deep loss.
Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!

Thanks for thinking of me.
Cookie suffered with diabetes and heart disease the two monsters that is deeply rooted in my family history. She suffered a massive heart attack. It is heartbreaking, but Cookie is no longer suffering. She hated dialysis. It is comforting knowing she was very happy in the last weeks of her life.
She was laid to rest today. I will update this post of pictures of her later.
